The highest grades and many thanks were received, for example, from the German delegation of Land Brandenburg headed by Minister President of Brandenburg Mr. Matthias Platzeck. 8 people and Matthias Platzeck himself had to leave the exhibition area to proceed to the airport at the very moment when Government authorities arrived. A good coordination between protocol and the Federal Guarding Services regulating strict security regime made it possible and in time.
Gratitude letters were received from the Embassy of Switzerland, the Embassy of Italy, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and others.

- Organized company events for 4,000 people in Moscow and for 400-700 people in other regions (covered by Svyaznoy retail chain).
The main challenge was to create a virtual office portal that would unite all the company through over the country. Russia is an extremely big country for employees of one company needed to stay in touch between offices in different cities and in different regions. Moreover, even in Moscow there was a break between different groups of specialists sitting in offices widely spread throughout the city. The Intranet portal www.intra.svyaznoy.ru was successfully launched in March 2004. It worked as a social network. People communicated, shared news and made friends over the country.
In March-August 2004 Intranet had got 3,500 registered user names (more than 70% of the company staff); by the end of 2004 more than $ 50,000 enlisted from partners for advertising on the Intranet site.

- Developed an annual editorial and work plan with extensive portfolio of articles for sequential issues
- Coordinate constructive interaction between functional groups: Project Leader, Editorial Board, authors, translators, artists, publishers
- Developed art concept/draft of an issue, selected imagery and managed art development and printing processes
- Prepared legal/contractual documentation
- Implemented Vestnik website including negotiation with developers, web mastering, resolving IT issues
- Developed distribution aimed different targeted groups (send outs, subscription, and website).
The Vestnik magazine became as popular as its famous predecessor, a leading business edition McKinsey Quarterly. Moreover, consultants got a relevant Russian language edition for publishing their know-how. Any issue itself worked as a welcomed business gift. In a year Vestnik achieved planned quarterly issuing (4 per year + 2 special editions). Circulation 2,000 copies, 7,000 web subscribers.
Moscow office electronic newsletter
- Recruited editorial team, advised different schemes of work to avoid schedule conflict
- Worked out a newsletter template (complete and simplified versions)
- Made up an issue (selected and compiled materials, tested outlook, approved with HQ, prepared to go live for different subscription groups)
- Conducted workshops to share experience of a local office newslettering including writing "editor-in-chief toolkit" to replicate the project in other offices
The project was adapted in other offices in Central and Eastern Europe (Paris, Prague, Warsaw). The Russian-speaking group subscription within the Firm prepared the ground for staffing in Moscow from abroad.
McKinsey became my ‘Alma mater’ in business. No other company gave me so diversified experience in different spheres of human activities and showed such a tremendous effectiveness and concentration on task. I sufficiently trained my problem solving abilities and sharpened skills to handle ongoing arrangements in up to three possible scenarios. I totally assumed ‘no “no” answer’ philosophy and focus on client servicing. My new position had been designed especially for me to aim my creative potential showing it. I was fond of publishing circle dealing with translators, artists, designers, webmasters.

- Established Hertz operations in Russia, the third important segment of traveling after plane/train tickets and hotels. Fleet in Moscow grew from zero to 25 cars in 1996–1998 available in 2 stations (Sheremetyevo airport and downtown).
- Completed training course for booking Hertz cars in Hertz Europe Ltd., London and became the first certified specialist in Russia for Hertz segment
- Introduced Hertz programs and booking options to a wide spread of travel agencies by regular one-day workshops.
The first 3 members of our team: GM, fleet manager and I – started Hertz operations in Russia. First time I picked up the phone and made reservations abroad via HQ Vienna office. In a short while my job responsibilities grew significantly. I managed a reservation team in Moscow, counseled on booking Hertz services via Global Distribution Systems (Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre), planned advertising and marketing activities (including placing Hertz ads in publishing editions, conducting marketing research, implementation of new programs and local corporate discounts) and handled customer claims. Also, I delivered training courses for travel agencies on how to book Hertz corporate and retail programs and cooperated with Amadeus help desk, American Express travel agency on car reservation.
